This page provides meeting attendees the essential information for planning a trip to RSNA 2009.

RSNA Membership:

The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) comprises 42,000 radiologists, radiation oncologists, medical physicists and allied scientists. Membership in RSNA offers many rewards, including free subscriptions to the peer-reviewed journals Radiology and RadioGraphics. In addition, the admission fee to the RSNA annual meeting is waived for members who register in advance. The deadline is September 1 for receipt of membership application in order to attend the RSNA annual meeting as a member. Apply today.

Registration and Housing:

May 27: Non-member registration and housing open
June 30: Course enrollment opens
November 6: Final discounted advance registration, housing and course enrollment deadline to have full conference materials mailed in advance.

Register by November 6 to receive the discounted registration fee and full conference materials mailed to you in advance. International visitors must register by October 23 to receive these materials in advance. Registrations received after November 6 will be processed at the increased fee and conference materials must be obtained at the McCormick Place Convention Center. No hotel or tour reservations will be accepted after November 6.

Full Conference Registration Fees:

Fees include access to most RSNA educational sessions, the Lakeside Learning Center and all exhibit halls for the duration of the meeting.

A technical exhibits–only badge is available for one-day admission to the technical exhibit halls for $300. Admission to sessions and/or CME credit is not offered for this category. A name badge will not be mailed in advance and requires pick-up on the day of exhibit attendance at the McCormick Place Convention Center.

Hotel Reservations

RSNA 2009 housing is now closed.

For any changes, cancellations or new reservations, please contact the hotels directly beginning November 17. Click here to access hotel information.

Course Enrollment:

RSNA is dedicated to creating learning opportunities that meet the highest standards of excellence. Different types of educational offerings are available to meet your personal needs and accommodate your schedule during RSNA 2009.

Continuing Education Credits:

RSNA is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs (CAMPEP) has approved the direct transfer of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ to MPCEC on a credit-for-credit basis for medical physicists. RSNA is an ARRT®-approved Recognized Continuing Education Evaluation Mechanism Plus (RCEEM+) and will provide Category A+ continuing education credits for technologists and radiologist assistants.

RSNA/SCARD Fellowship Interviews

To save radiology fellowship candidates the time and cost of traveling cross-country for multiple interviews, RSNA and the Society of Chairs of Academic Radiology Departments (SCARD) have invited institutions to conduct fellowship interviews in a convenient location near the RSNA 2009 Residents Lounge. Technical Exhibition A Must See at RSNA 2009:

With nearly 600 of the leading healthcare companies from across the globe slated to attend, the Technical Exhibition at the RSNA annual meeting remains the top healthcare exhibition in the U.S.

Once again, the RSNA Technical Exhibition will span three halls (Lakeside Center, Hall D; South Building, Hall A; and North Building, Hall B) anchored by companies at the forefront of medical technology.

Transportation:

Lost and Found

Lost articles may be picked up at the RSNA Security Office located in the North Building, Level 3, Hall B. After the meeting, all unclaimed articles will be returned to the RSNA Headquarters office. Please call 1-630-571-2670 or email reginfo@rsna.org.

Certificate of Attendance:

During the meeting, attendees can use computers in the Internet zones located throughout McCormick Place to print a personalized certificate of attendance.

Tours & Events:

RSNA has teamed up with In the Loop–Chicago and Bloomingdale's to offer exciting ways for annual meeting attendees to experience Chicago during their stay for RSNA 2009. Enjoy the sounds of music, view architectural wonders, explore unique neighborhoods, learn a new cooking technique and more. Five days of action-packed tours are offered. The advance deadline to register for tours has passed — please purchase tickets onsite.

Smoking Regulations:

Effective January 1, 2008, the Smoke-free Illinois Act prohibits smoking in virtually all public places and workplaces, including offices, theaters, museums, libraries, educational institutions, schools, commercial establishments, enclosed shopping centers and retail stores, restaurants, bars, private clubs and gaming facilities.

Smoking may be permitted in some hotels that have set aside a percentage of smoking rooms. Due to various Chicago hotel smoking policies, a request for a smoking room is not guaranteed and you must contact the hotel directly to confirm.

Smoking is not permitted inside the McCormick Place Convention Center. The only smoking areas are located outside the buildings. If you wish to smoke, please follow the signs directing you to the designated areas.
